IOS 16, anybody took the leap?
Discussion
IOS 16 on an iPhone 12 and Watch OS 9 on a series 5 worked fine for me.
Nothing too dramatic, but a few things helpful like being able to change the lock screen and watch face automatically with the focus mode.
Some subtle changes to the fitness app on the watch. Sleep tracking is also more detailed.
Medication reminder is helpful for those of us who rattle from taking lots of pills.
Messages now gets a recently deleted folder so you can retrieve stuff.
And hidden and recently deleted photos now needs face or fingerprint ID to open, although why anyone would need that…

its been mentioned at the end of the iphone 14 thread.
I hate it tbh, pretty much all lock screen related.
Lock screen notifications in do not disturb cant be viewed.
Lock screen messages appear from the bottom not the top (changing it in settings doesnt change it)
Customising the lock screen also seems to affect the background for the regular app screens, which I cant seem to keep the same as is currently (the water drop standard old view)

Have you allowed those applications or contacts in the focus mode?HotJambalaya said:

But you can change that separately under the ‘customise Home Screen option when you add the new Lock Screen.Well I still dont want those apps to disturb me and vibrate the phone. What I want to be able to do, while the phone is still in do not disturb mode, is to unlock the screen, swipe down and see what messages have come through and see the preview, as on a regular lock screen. Currently it doesnt seem to let me do that, it shows a blank screen, I literally have to open whatsapp to see the messages that have come while it was in do not disturb mode.

So you want to be disturbed by the notification appearing whilst in ‘do not disturb’…Have you tried turning on the option within ’do not disturb’ to ‘show silenced notifications on Lock Screen instead of notification centre’?

I dont see any of those options being the original screen backgroundI usually wait for the bugs to be ironed out, but did upgrade yesterday. So far so good, my SE feels a bit quicker, need to see how battery life is. Haven't touched any new 'features' yet, will have a play day. I like the new feature in WiFi where you can click on the password to reveal it.
I'm an Android user but have a works iPhone XR that I use for SMS, Calls, Teams and Outlook.
Work have told us not to update yet but the phone did it automatically, The new clock isn't as nice as the old one and don't get why the notifications are all cramped down the bottom now? anyway to change this.

You can turn off the notification stacking in the settings (Settings >> Notifications >> set 'Display As' to 'List' instead of 'Stack'), but unfortunately you can't move the notifications back to the top (presumably the logic for placing them at the bottom of the screen is to open up the section immediately below the clock for the new lock screen widgets - but I hate them being at the bottom too).https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201925
