My wireless mouse, a cheap Trust Yvi Wireless mouse that has a USB receiver that has to be plugged into a port, battery ran out at weekend and now having replaced the battery neither of my laptops picks up the mouse.

The Mouse is working fine as LED is on, the USB receiver is fine as the laptops both recognise it, i have tried all suggestions online, and deleted/updated the mouse drives that i can see associated with the mouse (when purchased by plugging the USB in that installs whatever needed to be if anything), but nothing has worked.

Its not a issue with the equipment itself as its stopped working on both laptops, on all USB ports (and as i say the laptops recognise the USB receiver)and a previous mouse of the same version exact same thing happened when the battery ran out.

Last time i went a bought a new one as couldn't be bothered to try to fix as its a very cheap mouse, but now i'm annoyed.

Its as if there is no Syncing between the mouse and USB receiver, however on this mouse model there's no sync button or anything like that that some wireless mice have, just an on off one that makes no difference turning on or off for short or extended periods.

Online help guides exhausted as are the suggestions on the Trust website. Anyone have any ideas how to fix?

The issue never occurred when simply unplugging the USB or turning the mouse off, but seems to have some link to the battery dying completely and now the apparent syncing wont occur.

thanks

Remove batteries, check battery health (not a given even with new ones), replace checking polarity and contacts.
I reckon the batteries are somewhere at the bottom of your woes.

For £11 I reckon this mouse is excellent. Bought one in 2020 then got another for upstairs computer.

Still going strong despite occasional trips to the floor!

thanks but tried various new batteries no joy in syncing. cannot contact trust as they have no contact for technical issues! if the faqs dont work they say it must be laptop issues so contact your manufacturer...

will try it on a completely different laptop that its never been on before and see what happens. if that works that would assumedly mean its not a battery issue?

I get this with an old mouse. I take the usb dongle out and put it back in. That fixes mine, seemingly bizarrely.
