Dear all
Quick question. I am looking for a touchscreen Win laptop for the sole reason of streaming youtube via Firefox and an adblocker. (Yes, I watch it a lot!)

I'm coming across a number of laptops which boast they have a mini HDMI port. Does this port have the same functionability as the full size one? I beleive you can get adaptors across the 2 sizes, but do they work the same?

Cheers.

Exactly the same.

Have you looked at a laptop set up to stream to a firestick or similar - may be easier from a cabling/sitting at the device viewpoint.

Thanks for that, I thought it would be the same, but wise to check. I have just upgraded to a Fire TV cube . Don't think you can stream to it wirelessly, will have to check the Alexa app, and look at the setup options.

Cheers.

There's a plex client for the Fire Tv Cube, works fine.

All you need to do is have the server component installed somewhere that has access to the drives with your media stored (i.e. your desktop, server, NAs whatever), and you're done. Free, too.

Edit - managed to run myself down the rabbit hole of 'use plex for streaming' and forgot the original request. No idea if you can stream youtube over it.

I've just tested and Edge on Windows will cheerfully stream to a Fire Stick Max.
