Data sim v Mobile sim?

I have a data only sim card from vodaphone I use in my iPad.

Can I was a phone SIM card, data and calls from EE in it instead?

iPad is not locked to one network, I know you can not phone from an iPad.

I just want to use the data, Googling says not.

Any one done it.

Yeah, the SIM will work for data. Not sure it will activate a cell service for calls or texts though.
