iPhone calendar issues

Hi all,

We (myself and Mrs Freak) have a perplexing issue with iPhone calendars, more specifically her iPhone calendar.

We create calendar entries so we know what the other may be doing, i.e. if Mrs Freak is having her hair done one evening, my out with my mates etc etc. This allows us to plan our time around these events.

However, yesterday Mrs Freak informed me that she never gets my invites into her iPhone calendar and they always come through as emails, and I subsequently spent a few hours checking both iPhones side by side for any calendar settings and they were both identical, so I am baffled.

To add some context, we both have Gmail accounts (Mrs Freak has two), iCloud email (not that we use them), and I also have a hotmail account.

If I create a meeting invite from the iPhone calendar from my Gmail account and add her as an invitee (her primary Gmail account), she receives an email it doesn't appear in her calendar inbox/notification. If I repeat this process from my Hotmail to her Gmail the exact same thing. If I invite her iCloud/2nd Gmail again the same thing regardless of which email account I send from, they all appear as emails rather than notifications in her calendar app??

She has the Gmail calendar app also, and this works fine bizarrely.

Flip this the other way around, if she sends me an invite I receive this without issue within the iPhone calendar app.

Any ideas?

this is working as intended. She is effectively being invited to your meeting.

consider a shared gmail account for which you only use the calendar?

Well no, if she does the exactly same process I get the notification in my iPhone calendar, I never receive the email.

If she goes to https://calendar.google.com/ then to settings and looks at Event Settings, what is the value selected for "Add invitations to my calendar"?
