Hi all,

Wonder if anyone could help or advise on this please...

At my wifes work, she needs access to many calendars (over 100). These have been set up as individual mailboxes with calendars and they have all been added to her Outlook (mail and calendar), and they all appear in the list on the left. As a result, it appears to be continually polling all the time and so its grinding to a halt and is now practically unusable.

Is there a way to stop it from polling all the calendars, and to only get the latest updates if they are selected to be viewed please? I'm sure it must be possible because at my work I've got access to lots of peoples calendars, but they only ever update if I've checked the box to show them on the screen alongside mine.

Any ideas? There seems to be lots of settings but not sure which one/s we need to change to stop the continual polling?

Thanks!

OK firstly 100+ mailboxes she has delegate rights to is just nuts. Anyway secondly turn off cached mode in Outlook, go to Account Settings, Change the email account properties, More settings, Advanced tab, and untick Download Shared Folders to reduce the carnage.

That is a terrible way to work, not much software will be optimised for that type of volume of calendars.

You could try third party calendar specific apps to see if they will help.

It'll be the free/busy info that'll be grinding everything to a halt. I assume she isn't selecting all of the calendars at any one time within Outlook and only selecting the ones she needs to check as and when?
