It drops the wifi connection and then cannot see a network. Restart the machine and it sees and connects fine for a while. Signal is strong.

Other devices are connected to the wifi with no issues.

I've tried restoring factory settings, but no improvement.

Any ideas chaps please?

It's probably preferring 5Ghz WiFi over the 2.4Ghz band.
Deactivate the 5Ghz WiFi at your router or wireless AP's and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks. I will try. Any idea why it might suddenly have started doing that?

Let's try and identify if it's the issue first.

But Chrome OS now has OS updates pushed out every 4 weeks. I'm not totally convinced of that update frequency as I think it makes it difficult to identify and resolve bugs across all possible combos of hardware and boards before the updates are released.
