We're away for a week and I had the bright idea to being the Apple TV with us so that we could catch up on a few things which aren't on Sky (the only option in the holiday cottage). Thinking I was being clever, there was no need to brig the remote as I can control the ATV from my phone (and I'd only leave the remote behind when we go home anyway).

However, of course, the ATV and the phone need to be on the same wifi network (I thought Bluetooth would do it). Since the ATV has never been set up here, I can't access it via the phone to connect it to the cottage wifi.

Is there any way around this? It's not the end of the world, of course, but we'd just like to watch some stuff we want to watch rather than endless Dave biggrin

f you don’t have the Apple TV Remote, you can’t connect to the Apple TV since you don’t have the remote to enter the Wi-Fi credentials.

If you’ve got iOS 9.0 or a more recent version, you can transfer the Wi-Fi network SSID, the password, and even your Apple ID credentials to the Apple TV.

To do this, make sure that the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are turned ON on your iOS device.

Turn ON the Apple TV, and when the Start-up Screen appears, touch your iOS device to the Apple TV box, and follow the on-screen instructions on both devices. Your Apple TV can now access the new Wi-Fi network.

If your Apple TV is connected to Wi-Fi but isn’t working, check for service interruptions, then update and reset your devices.

That's a great spot, thanks. Unfortunately it doesn't work frown

I was away with a group recently and we only ever had to connect one phone to the wifi, then sharing was possible multiple times. Doesn't come up for the ATV tho - I suspect it's either too old and/or needs a software update. I don't generally use it that much at home.

Thanks again anyway.
