Is there a small point and shoot camera that is like a mobile phone? One with a built in battery I don't need a separate charger for, one the plugs into the mains to charge just like a mobile phone. Around £100 mark possibly more.
Please don't answer "why don't you use a mobile phone" There are reasons why I ask

Thank-you.

Something about the size of a mobile phone that has a USB charge port?

There are a great many of these, simply typing "camera" into Amazon will show more than you could want.

Amazon have a number of small compacts that support USB charging for under £100. No idea how good they are though.

e.g https://www.amazon.co.uk/BRIHIEVY-Vlogging-Powerfu...

gets OK reviews

Depends what you're taking photos of, but there are plenty of go pro clones on Amazon for under £100 if you want something with a fixed field of view (no zoom). If you want something with a bit of zoom and a flash the simplest option would be a second hand compact camera from eBay, they're practically giving them away as no-one wants one. Don't be too concerned about the removable battery, practically every camera released in the past 10 years can be charged with a USB cable, if in doubt find the pdf of the manual and check in there.
For example this one
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125489639794?epid=16032...
Is from 2015 (I think) but could well suit your needs, manual is here and shows the USB port that can be used for charging on page 12.

As above, ebay for second hand.

If you want new:

Sony W800 is only £90:

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/cyber-shot-comp...

Sony W830 is £130:

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/cyber-shot-comp...

Your money will go a lot further second hand, if you post a bit more about what you want/need then it would help.

There's also a Photo and Video forum on PH:

Would a cheap action camera type unit not do this perfectly?

Nice and small. Point and shoot. Battery based and USB charging.

An early Sony RX100 might fit the bill OP.
