Mobile £350 budget
Discussion
Hi,
I recently purchased a Poco F3 (8GB/256GB)and very very.. very happy with it!
Had a coupon code so got it for around £316 or so. It's currently back up at £349

Thanks for that! I did see Poco brand couple months ago but it completely slipped my mind. I'll check some proper reviews for it! I recently purchased a Poco F3 (8GB/256GB)and very very.. very happy with it!

I have an Honor 8X too, it's coming up to four years old now but works perfectly and battery life is still brilliant. Compare that to the iPhones my children insist on having where the battery starts to fail after less than a year.
I wouldn't go for the Honor 50 as I don't like the curved screen. If I was buying a phone for under £350 I would go for the redmi-note-11-pro at £319.

50 quid over budget but the Pixel 6a is available on 0% finance over 24 months so only £16.63 a month.

Screen is way too small for me at 6.1 inch, and the design of all Google phones just look so dated as the bezels are so thick.https://store.google.com/gb/product/pixel_6a?hl=en...

Full disclosure, I have a Pixel 6a. I suppose screen size is subjective to the needs of the user, I actually wanted something smaller than my previous phone (Xiaomi Mi 9) so it would be easier in my pocket. I still find the screen perfectly big enough to easily view but I accept that is subjective opinion. I find the bezel thickness fine (especially once it is a case). I don't get the design comment, apart from the fact I don't really care what something that spends most of its life in my pocket looks like I actually like the design, again though I would say that is subjective opinion though. System design wise I find it hard to beat the fact that you get a pure, clean version of Android (all ready to run Android 13), my previous phones have had way too much bloatware and the Mi 9 needed a launcher to make it acceptably usable.I didn't think the 6a had the best reviews, especially for the price. The 8x has been fantastic but I've had to replace the battery twice due to bloating even though I only charge up to 80% each time. The poco looks pretty good and I'll check rednote as well. Thanks for the help so far guys!

Note sure what reviews you've seen but these are the first results for Pixel 6a review:https://www.androidcentral.com/phones/google-pixel...

The general verdict is a great phone for the price. I have no complaints about mine, I think clean version of Android takes quite a lot of beating. I got a free pair of Pixel Buds with it as well so that was nice.

With all due respect, how you will use your phone and cause battery wear is completely different to how a child is using the device. I know my 17-year-old has had to charge his phone more than once daily even when new; I think it helps him breathe, he might die if the screen is not on and a video not playing.....RedWhiteMonkey said:

I know, they seem to constantly be on 7% battery, plug it in for ten minutes, unplug it, rinse and repeat.I have told them them repeatedly not to do this but they don't listen. Last time I checked my youngsters phone she was getting of for 50 hours of screen time a week.

I have to defend my rather old work iPhone 11 here - I use it a lot, and at 3 years or so old it's still on 98% battery health (and lasting just as long as when I bought it new) I wouldn't go for the Honor 50 as I don't like the curved screen. If I was buying a phone for under £350 I would go for the redmi-note-11-pro at £319.

Just got a Sony Xperia 10 IV for £349, so far very pleased.
They didn't even cross my mind tbh. I did have a Sony Ericsson many years ago. Think it was a T610. The little joystick in the middle broke after a few months and the paint wore off a few months later. It had GPRS so you had hook onto the net but would take sooooo long to open a basic web page. Glad tech has moved on nowadays! I got a Redmi Note 10 Pro on Prime day for £129.00 - An absolute steal but even at the usual retail price of £249.00 or thereabouts it might be worth looking at. There are often (always) deals at Mi.com
Screen is first rate, battery life excellent, does absolutely everything I could want from a phone.
Doesn't have 5g (not interested anyway) or wireless charging (likewise).
Simply cannot understand why people pay much more for a phone to be honest, but that's up to them of course.

I managed to get one of those in this week's sale for the same price. Absolutely stunning for the money. I'll finally pension off my trusty old Lenovo P2.Xiaomi have a lot of offers on at the moment. worth a look in general.
