How could I deduct a time from another time. For example:

17:47:22,435

MINUS

17:47:22,434

EQUALS

00:00:00,001

When I format cells as 'Time', the fomula B1 - A1 doesn't work?

Thanks all for any help.

Like this?

Format the cells as

And Google sheets wants a period separator for the milliseconds, not a comma.

WOW FANTASTIC THANKS!!!! I didn't see the 'custom' time and date format, so it was missing the milliseconds.

Just be careful that you understand the difference between Time and Duration. When you're adding and subtracting Time your result could be the Duration - the amount of time between the two Times, or it could be the new Time.

So if you take two Times, 23:59:00 and 00:02:00 and add them together, do you want the Duration, which is 24:01:00 or do you want the Time which is 00:01:00?

Sometimes it doesn't matter as you can't end up with numbers greater than 24 hours, but sometimes it causes all manner of hell for you!
