I recently lost my dad and whilst spending time with siblings realised we all had pictures of them that others had not seen.

I thought it would be good to create a central repository for us all to upload pictures of dad to, thought about using google drive but not everyone has a gmail, same with one drive.

What can i use that's really easy to use, as a few people are not IT literate at all, only had a smartphone for a few years? Also need something that is private and only accessible by certain phones numbers, don't want to open it up to the public

Google drive, create folder, drop in, share folder.

Unless they're really, really, really anti google!

If you've a google account, it's done and dusted!

My condolences. If you want to limit to certain people then they’ll need to have an account for something tbh so it may as well be a Google account. You can set up a shared album in Google photos that is only accessible to certain people which is what I use for family sharing.

Thanks, still not sunk in.

This was my concern, not everyone has a google account, its a mixture of yahoo, hotmail and gmail.

You don't need an account, you can just share a link I believe

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vpsgbaawBm...

Try mine?

Edited to say - you need an account to create the folder and pop the photos in!

Just read your post again OP, anyone with the google link can see it, you'll have to trust people not to share etc.

The other option is a simple whatsapp group?? you can also use whatsapp on your PC now too if that helps??

And yes as others say, sorry about your dad, lost mine 29 years ago when he was 49 (blimey) I still miss him, take care.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I use freeimage.host to store my photos that I share on the web, however you can set the account to be private. Then you could just give everyone the logon details and they can add pics to the album and view all the others that you all added too.

This is the easiest real world solution.
Choose a photo storage solution (G Photos or whatever).
Create a new account specifically for this purpose. Ensure account recovery options are set to other options you control (another email, phone number etc)
Share the login details with family members. Give them easy to read instructions on how to upload photos.
Let them upload their photos.
When everyone is finished you can catalogue everything into albums to make things simple and organized for all to view.

Obviously don't use that account for anything else other than cataloguing and sharing the family photos.

Thank you

I think this might be the easiest solution
