Hi all
I seem to be printing an increasing amount and there's only so many times I can borrow the in laws printer, so I've decided to buy one.
Won't be printing anything fancy like photos so doesn't need to be the best quality, I don't like the idea of these ink subscription services so looking for something where I buy an ink cartridge
Anyone able to recommend a basic printer please

if it's only black and white consider a cheap laser printer

i bought a cheap Samsung laser printer for about £60 4 or 5 years ago and its till on the original ink. fire it up and prints first time. if its just black and white documents you want go for laser. used to cost me a fortune replacing in inkjet cartridges as they dried out.

Ditto on the mono laser printer.

I found that unless the inkjet printer was in regular use it would spend more time cleaning the jets and doing test pages than actually printing. I also have a cheap Samsung which still turns out acceptable mono/greyscale prints. When the missus really needed colour we binned the inkjet and bought a cheap Brother colour laser and that can sit for weeks then fire up and print instantly.

Brother mono laser. Picked mine up from Argos for about £45-50. The toner lasts 2-3k pages. Instant on and zero risk of blockages.

NonOEM toner is dirt cheap too.
