Sick of the BBC, too Much banal talking from the DJ’s both male and female and the DJ’s I do like have been sacked or left for other stations.

I need a DAB+ radio so that I can listen to boom radio.

Do not want to listen on TV or on my phone which is used as a phone only contract with sky is only £5 a month with low data usage so it meets my need

Which radio? Must be mains and battery as it will be on most of the day.

Any recommendations?

I have had a Pure evoke H2 in my kitchen for quite a few years, sound is quite impressive for the size.
Pure do larger models if you want something a bit punchier.

ETA:the pic is of an H3 which seems to have replaced the H2

If you have wired internet (as opposed to mobile) then consider an internet capable radio.
Then you can listen to stuff from anywhere...
...In. The. Wo-oo-r-rld /Clarkson.
And the bit rates can be far higher if the radio (and your ears smile ) has good enough audio to make use of it.

Have a look at the Ruark stuff, I've got an R2 which is fantastic although they don't seem to make that model any more.

A bit pricy, but worth it.

Thanks all for prompt replies. I will investigate your suggestion jet noise, at 75 my hearing especially of the higher frequencies is not great so quality is not the same consideration as puddlejumpers!
I have a cat scarer to stop the local bird killers from entering my property, I cannot hear it when triggered but judging from the cats reaction they are working

No five year old grandchildren to keep me right unfortunately so have to depend on my own efforts, and that of the good people on here..

I have sky subscription for internet unlimited so that looks the way to go

Once again thanks all for advice

Many radios do both DAB+ & internet. I've a rechargeable battery portable Ocean Digital WR26 & a mains clock radio Lenco CR2003.
I exclusively use them for internet as there's not even FM (without external-to-the-house antenna) here, let alone DAB!

They're both about 3yrs old so the tech may have moved on but FWIW:
The WR26 is a very traditional in style cheap tranny (no, not that kind wink ). Audio quality is ordinary as is the battery life. But it does what I need in the bathroom or wherever for background.
The CR2003 is a bit better audio-wise and just works apart from one quirk. No internet radio alarm if one hasn't had it on in the 24hrs before. I can't say whether this is due to the nowt but internet availability/use. I use sleep function anyway so that's easily worked around.
A couple of common downsides:
And this affects even DAB in high-availability areas is the difficulty of finding the/a station by name. No popup keyboards here smile Once one has favourited (made up word), then 'tis easy.
The WR26 gets around this somewhat by having a PC (maybe 'phone too) browser accessible favourites list if one charges the radio from a computer.
Nothing but the station name or ID is displayed. No scrolling background text with track playing info here, that's DAB only.

Have a google home screen thing at home, ask it to play whatever and it does. Sounds ok for a kitchen radio

Just bought one of these (the newer version doesn't do music streaming from the local network frown ) and I am very impressed with it. I didn't bother getting the battery pack for it.

Can recommend any of the Revo DAB/DAB+ radio and/or hi-fi units. Slightly more expensive than others but worth it for sound quality and design

https://revo.co.uk/products/supersignal/

and if you still play CD's the SuperCD is excellent
