Off on holiday next week and it's a 4.5 hour flight. My daughter can't read or watch films as it makes her feel ill. She has an iPhone 11 and wants a load of her music on it to listen to. We haven't got Spotify or anything like that.

Is it a case of painstakingly uploading everything on our slow PC to iTunes or is there a shortcut?

Spotify or Amazon music do a 1 month free trial. Just make sure you cancel before the month is up.

Is your music in a bunch of MP3 files on the computer? You don't have to "upload" to iTunes, ie you don't have to transfer the files onto the internet. What it does is a) library manage the MP3s on your hard drive and b) sync them to the phone. It won't be the work of a minute, but both steps are set-and-forget.

Don't forget to download the music and not just add it to your library. I don't think Spotify or Amazon do this by default.

I asked her last night if she knew her Apple ID password. The answer was no.

I'll try to sort it but it might end up being the Spotify route.

You can also listen to Spotify for free but there are just adverts every other song much louder than the music you're playing.. it's not ideal and I couldn't deal with it but it is free

You need a premium subscription to download content on Spotify, unlikely to be able to stream content while flying.

All sorted. Once we'd got her brain in gear to remember her password it was plain sailing.
