Discussion
yo,
we use this at work and i've noticed that over the years it's been getting worse and worse and worse in terms of calendar entries not sync'ing up with other computers without being manually refreshed and just being sluggish in general
has anyone else found this before and came up with a solution?
I know it's a shot in the dark posting here but would be appreciated :>

Performance issues can happen if you have too many items in a single folder. For instance I am just sorting a similar issue out for a user who did have over 60000 items in her sent items folder. Easy to do over several years.
Microsoft say the limit is 100000 items per folder but my experience is that performance starts to be affected above 50000 items.

You may need to have a good archive session and a bit of a clear out. That usually sorts it.

Close Outlook
File explorer View show hidden files, navigate to c:\Users\<yourUserNAme>\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\
There'll be an .ost file with your account name, check the size
If it's close to 50Gb
open Outlook and go to File => Account Settings => Account settings, double click the account.
Whatever the slier for local time to cache is halve it, Next, Done. and close outlook
Whatever the size delete the .ost you've just found, relaunch outlook and let it rebuild the cache.
Have you resized your Outlook file ?
Clear down as much of the Deleted Items folder as you are willing to go (I always keep the previous whole month in case I find I have accidentally deleted something while it is still valid) then:
