I've got to move my sister off Windows 7 & Windows Live Mail onto Windows 10 & a new client - but it seems that Mail in Win10 can't import her old emails. She can't get on with browser based clients so Gmail & Hotmail are out hence I'm looking for another client which is simple to use. I looked at Bluemail but that can't import either so I'm down to something like Thunderbird.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? It has to be simple & be able to import old emails.

Nothing will import from live mail, you'll have to export from live mail to a .pst then import the pst. EmClient is the way forward from here.

Alternative…. Who is her email account with and do they support IMAP?

If they do, switch over to IMAP, sync all her emails to the email server, upgrade to Windows 11, and let the standard Windows Mail client sync the emails back from the email server using IMAP. No export/import process needed.

Bonus then she always has a backup of her email on the server, and can access from multiple devices keeping it all in sync.
I totally agree but sadly it's Zen so POP only. I'm trying to get her to move away but it's very hard.
