How to connect Alexa to external speakers?
Discussion
Hi All,
As per title, we are having 4 speakers installed in the corners of quite a large room, and I would like them to be ran by Alexa. I envisage them just being speaker cable to each speakers.
I would ideally like Alexa to function exactly as is, but the sound coming out of the speakers. Ideally without an Amp/receiver being constantly powered on for the sake of Alexa.
Any recommendations on a sensible way of doing this?
Thanks in advance

You're going to need an amp to power the speakers, the Alexa speaker would output to the amp. If they're active speakers you would plug Alexa into the main speaker.
This. You could put a smart plug on the amp, so first command to Alexa would be turn on amp plug.
Can Alexa do that, automatically turn on & off a smart plug as part of a 'Alexa play music' 'alexa stop...' etc etc? Or would I need to ask Alexa to turn on the plug, before then playing the music?
