Another quickie on phones -

Can anyone speak to whether iphones can be set up to easily sync google contacts BOTH ways I appreciate you can easily import).

Basically I am in the Google [ecosystem] with Google Drive, Photos email contacts etc but I am attracted to some iphones for
1) size - smaller form factor of eg iphone SE / 11 mini, and
2) waterproofness and
3) screen quality

I am now satisfied that google photos and google drive work slickly on apple (ipad anyway!) and am running out of excuses.

Can anyone speak to the 2 way contacts sync point / come up with any speedbumps for being Googleman on an iphone?

Thanks a lot - appreciated

I've got an iphone and use Google contacts. For the last 5 years or so it has worked absolutely fine. I have vague memories of all my contacts duplicating themselves at some point in the distant past.

I use an iPhone and Google contacts - I don't recall what happened when I initially transferred from my previous Android phone a couple of years ago but I didn't have any issues with contacts duplicating (the Google contacts stayed and still appear in the iPhone Contacts as the Google account is included in the Contacts settings). So I didn't actually import my contacts into my Apple account, I just added my Google account to the Contacts app. As for syncing - no issue, whenever I create a new contact I ensure it is saved into the Google account, not the Apple ID account, so there's no syncing to be done, it's all done directly into, and on, the Google account. Effectively I don't use the Apple account for any of my contacts, it's all on the Google account.

I used this app and followed these instructions, had no issues, was amazed at how straightforward it was to move:

Pixel 5 would of ticked all 3 of them, OK the screen is 6" but it has tiny bezels where as Iphone has massive Bezels.

Thanks. Yes tempting but the iPhone SE or older XR just seem such premium hardware products
