Hi Folks,
Despite being told by my Son to not open it, my Wife has clicked on a link in an email which hadn't come from me although it said I was the sender.
On my lap top (Windows) and phone (Samsung Android) I can use CCleaner or Malwarebytes to look for Trojans, Virus, etc.
What is available for Apple iPhones please. Is there a Free App?
Not sure if anything sinister has been put on her phone, I believe it was a link to something in the Daily Mirror but didn't see it myself.
Thanks

It's very unlikely albeit not totally impossible, with the way security works on iOS, that it will have installed anything - I wouldn't worry about it. The only exception would be in the phone was jailbroken, which given you are asking the questions, leads me to think it isn't.

Thanks for that confidence boost, I've seen the term Jailbroken but no idea what it means. Nothing to do with Thin Lizzy I assume....

Firstly, CCleaner will not remove malware from a Windows machine - Malwarebytes is better

Security scanners on iOS do not work. Apple does not allow them access to resources to function correctly.

If your iPhone is running iOS 15.6 then you should have little to worry about. Given it's an email crapthing, you probably don't need to worry either. You can save the file and submit it to virustotal to give you an indication that it targets Windows.

Thanks everyone, sounds like she's safe. Doesn't use the phone for banking or anything anyway. I'm not an Apple fan but it seems that for once they have the upper hand over Android/Windows.
