I'd like something small, powerful and efficient as my new phone to replace my Huawei Pro20......everyone seems to want a tablet sized screen these days.

Any recommendations Ladies and Gents?
Thanks

If you’re not averse to Apple phones the 12/13 mini are small by today’s standards and are pretty high spec. Lots of people reporting short battery life on the 12 mini but my wife and I both have them and it lasts all day without issue.
Cost more than the equivalent android phones but if you sell it after a few years you should get more back.

Yeah 13 is a great device if you want something with some grunt have a look at the bench marks nothing comes close.

I have a 13 Pro Max I even have Lighroom on it and edit 4k 60fps video in Prem Rush it’s just mad !

I have an iPhone SE 2 which is the same size as an iPhone 6. It’s the same processor etc as an iPhone 11 IIRC

I also have the same, love it. I bought from music magpie for not-very-much, think they called it the SE 2020.

I couldn’t find any powerful and reasonably priced small android phones - all seem to be big things, which I don’t like. So went back to Apple.

I've been looking for a replacement for my S10e and the only sensible sized Android phones seem to be the S22 and Google Pixel

I've gone from the Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 4 XL to the Pixel 5 which is smaller.

I'm in a very similar position - I have a Mate 20 pro which is coming 3 1/2 years old and I'm looking at replacements.

Other small phones to look at would be:

Asus Zenphone 8 - powerful but average cameras and battery life - soon to be replaced by zenphone 9
Sony Xperia 5 III - Probably top of my list. Good battery, micro sd and headphone jack, but expensive and cameras are good but not point and shoot
Xiaomi 12 - seems a good all rounder. No IP rating
Sony Xperia 10 IV - massive battery life, but not that powerful and questionable cameras

Edit to add:

Pixel 6A - due out this month and 6.1"

The Xperia 5 IV should be out later in the year also. I've recently had the Xperia 1 IV (same phone but with a bigger screen) and it's a properly impressive bit of kit. Superb screen and battery life, 3.5mm jack and the new Zoom lens is brilliant. Not cheap, but came with a £279 pair of headphones (XM4s) which lessened the blow a bit.

Asus Zenfone 9 is due to be announced on the 28th, flagship level processor/gpu, 5.9" screen with all the latest bells and whistles (so it'll be compact in the current Android world of 6.7"+ flagships) first phone to use the latest ddr5 ram etc, rumoured to start at £425 - one of the tech Youtubers I follow was excited about it.

iPhone 13 mini definitely worth looking at if you don't mind Apple. 5.4" screen, huge power, great camera and I haven't seen a smaller phone for a while. The 12 mini battery is a bit lacking, but the 13 mini battery is much better.

How about the Samsung folding flip thing?

All the benefits of a small case without giving up the benefits of reasonable screen real estate.

Pixel 6a is available to pre-order now on the Google store from £399, looks like it's a tad bigger than a Pixel 5.
You get free headphones and upto £200 trade-in with an older phone.
It could be an option.

Asus Zenfone 9 reviews are out and it looks a great choice for a small and powerful smartphone.

The battery looks very good, which is unusual for small phones.

No wireless charging on either the Zenphone or the Pixel 6a though which is a shame, I guess that just leaves me with the S22
