This one is really pissing me off now.

I have a btinternet email account which I have been using for many many years, I access the account from a home pc (Windows10) an iPad and an iPhone. Not tried the pc this week but yesterday the iPad and iPhone stopped collecting mail.....

Password hasn’t changed as I can access mail through the bt site.

Removed the account on the iPad and reset up - won’t collect anything.

Changed password on website and removed and reloaded account on iPad- nothing.

I am 150 miles away from the pc so can’t check it still has access.

Any suggestions apart from not using BT?

Is BT mail provided by yahoomail? They've had major problems over last few days

Maybe but why can I access it via the web but not the app.

Because of the specific nature of the outage they have/are experiencing?

There a many reasons why external systems won’t work while there is a outage but the internal web app works.

Have you moved from BT for your broadband? If you do they move you to "basic" email with no app access, unless you pay for it.

My wife still has access to her btinternet account via her I-pad so it looks like the problem isn’t at BT.

Hers is a current model, mine is 6-8 years old (hand me down)

I have had a similar issue with 3 customers in the past week. You may have a different problem but I resolved theirs by logging into the BT webmail in a browser on the Ipad and then adding the Ipad as a trusted device. After this deleting the account and then adding it again solved the issue.
Edited to say that all 3 had "2 step authentication" enabled.

Been with but for years, account was upgraded last year to unbreakable. I am running remotely over a hotel WiFi and have tried mobile data on phone but nothing works.

Have been in 2 hotels this week, both I have stayed in before without issues.

Wonder if it will start working again tomorrow when I get home tomorrow?

Back home and now working on the iPad which had the account deleted and reloaded

Still not working on the IPhone which hasn’t been touched - says server not responding.

Wife has had no issues.
