Locked out of gmail
Discussion
Phone developed a no signal and battery problem, so I tried resetting it. The problem is still there and when I tried to sign in to google, it's saying to key in the code after i've put the password in. 100% sure on password, used it the night before on PC. The code I guess isn't coming through because of no signal.
So I tried to sign in on my PC and it says I need to sign in on a device they recognise (my phone!)
Haven't added a recovery email and they aren't asking me any other security questions, just to sign in using my phone
Recently got new broadband provider and wondering if that isn't helping with security, as when I visit google maps, one day It says I'm in Scotland, another day the south and today it thinks I'm in Rochdale!
Could do with a number to ring if they can help.

Have you logged on with it to any other devices ? I had this happen to me with a 'second' account I used on a Fire Tablet. I traded that one in and when trying to set gmail up on the new one it insisted on authorising through the original which was now back with Amazon and factory reset. Got round it by logging on to another device (might have been an old phone) that had previously used the same email address.
Just to stop conspiracy theories - was experimenting with possibly uploading some PoGo videos, but then discovered I had no patience for video editing.

New phone arrived, google still insisting I sign in with my old broken phone.
Insane, got my password and can't access my account on a device I've already used for months
Think the old phone problem is related to flight mode, it's slightly illuminated and perhaps why I have no signal.
Just phoned google's london number, they won't take info over phone for account security and advise you to follow the recovery process, which does not work for me - I have my FKN password FFS!!!
Only thing I can think is to try and get mobile repaired

Have you tried using the recovery email address & / or the one use security codes issued when setting up 2fa?
Unfortunateley never got round to setting one up. It's says enter the code on the phone after putting the password in, but the no service issue is stopping me receiving a code i guessMy tech knowledge is very basic, so it's causing a big headache!
Guess I'll end up setting another account up and spending hours changing everything! but there is some stuff I'd like not to lose
