What phone for bang4buck?

So, my trusty Pixel 2 may be up for renewal soon.

I noticed the battery is not holding charge as well as it used to, sometimes starts to flicker etc and just generally wear and tear is getting to it.

I use my phone a lot, but for more work duties rather than social. Email, a few work apps, Google maps (a lot!), music streaming via Bluetooth headset/car stereo. Never play games, watch the occasional video on YouTube.

So - thinking along the lines of bang for buck, what would you advice to replace this with when it finally gives up the ghost? I want a shed of a phone basically.

Oh - I prefer pure android. Hate all the bloatware on Samsung's. Maybe a Moto or a OneNord or whatever they are called? Was gonna treat myself to pixel 6, but the reviews seem a bit dull.

I love my Xiaomi Redmi. It's a Note 8 Pro, paid less than £100 for it. Check Hot UK Deals as Xiaomi regularly drop the prices on their latest offerings to stupidly low prices.

I've had three Moto G's of various types, all bought second hand for under £100. Latest is a 5g one. I use it mainly for google maps/waze, browsing, and media streaming.

They don't have much in the way of bloat and, for cheap and cheerful phones, I've been very impressed by them.

I've had all the Nexus/Pixel phones (currently on the Pixel 5) but recently purchased a Motorola G50 5G for my partner, battery is on the large size and its a fairly vanilla version of Android on it.
