My iCloud Storage is Almost Full
Discussion
It should just be a case of logging in to the iCloud account via a web browser, log in and click on the iCloud Drive icon, it should look like any other file explorer window, then select the files you don't want and click on the little trash can icon at the top (unless they've changed the layout again, it's been a while since I've had anything to do with iCloud storage).
The only thing to keep an eye on are any devices that you've got hooked up to the iCloud account (iphone, macbook/imac), as soon as you delete the files off the iCloud account it'll re-sync the files next time it has a net connection and upload them back on to the account (so you've also got to delete them off the device as well).
Anything you want to keep though either off load to an external hard drive or upload to another cloud account (hotmail/outlook accounts have about 5GB of onedrive space with them, amazon prime account? unlimited space for any photo's, google, dropbox etc...) before deleting.

It’s 79p a month for 50GB it £2.49 for 200GB. Just pay for it and don’t worry about having to manage the space.
Also there’s a few other benefits which you may or may not care about, but for me the email account with custom domain was a bonus since Google stopped allowing this on free accounts.

Deleting stuff will work but you may find yourself having to do it again in a few months.
Not overly onerous but a bit of a faff.
The base paid iCloud storage is 79p/month for 50gb
I would highly recommend considering this option at some point. Just set it up and forget about it and let it do its thing in the background.

If you're on a Mac there'll be an iCloud Drive icon in the sidebar when you open a window. Simply open it and drag and drop the stuff you want to move from iCloud into a folder that's on your local drive, or delete it, the same way you would if you were deleting something that's on your local drive. I guess there'll be an equivalent method on a Windows device.

I wonder if that may not be the right answer. 79p a month takes a bit of thinking about though.....Also there’s a few other benefits which you may or may not care about, but for me the email account with custom domain was a bonus since Google stopped allowing this on free accounts.
Confused at the question a bit - you just delete what you don't need anymore?
Photos and videos will probably take up the biggest chunk, so go through your photo library and delete everything you don't want to keep.
When you realise you want to keep all the memories you just start a subscription.

do you have an Apple Watch or the need to have Health activated? Because this will be a recurring problem. I know because I decided the 50Gb upgrade, annoying as it is, was the frictionless approach.
As a benefit, you get to incorporate a custom email domain to your iCloud email and use other + services.

I hate monthly payment so much (and no matter how small lol) that when this happened to me I decided it was time to bite the bullet and buy a NAS drive. Obviously has many other uses too, but it's wonderful, and free forever, after stumping up at least £300 lol.CrippsCorner said:
