Today I have amazed myself. usually cannot change a plug, but I have managed to set my router up to use NordVPN.

issue is, how do i change the location I want to pretend to be in to the UK? VPN is working but it thinks I am in the US, so I still cannot watch catch up TV from the UK (Iplayer etc).

Any ideas? And please remember that when explaining, it really dies have to be in idots terms.

Thanks you!

What router did you set it up on?

Also do you know if you're using their OpenVPN method?

Normally you need to download configuration files from them and it is where you download them that you set the region you wish to appear from. This is their place for it: https://nordvpn.com/servers/tools/?_ga=2.225463386...

So you'd set the UK in that and the subsequent configuration/download you get is what you'd use on your router to make sure it sets the UK when it connects.

Be a bit careful with router based VPNs. Great for covering your whole network but it also means that certain things that don't play nicely with a VPN also stop working across your whole network. So you're happily watching iPlayer but your family don't understand why they can't access their online banking any more for example.

You need to download OpenVPN config file from here - https://nordvpn.com/ovpn/ for which ever region you want. Presumably there is an option to upload this file into your router for you to make it look like you are in the UK
