My old Cam Hi cctv has died and I'm looking for a replacement. I'd rather not get the same again as it is an absolute nightmare to set up. I need it to run off wifi, use an sd card for storage, mains powered and suitable for use outdoors. A fairly simple request, but I can't seem to find anything suitable.

Netatmo Presence? Ticks all those boxes plus Apple HomeKit / Google Home compatibility.

I'm about to pull the trigger on some Eufy gear. Looks decent, and integrated memory so no monthly fees.

I use Reolink ... no need for mains, the solar ones connected to WiFi work perfectly

Try one from Amazon - you can always send it back

Do you need monthly fees for this?

Nope ... I just have it for still shots that they email to me. They have local storage as well (add a sd card) that you can view from the app.

The setup and quality are easy and good. I just have the cheapest bullet ones on the exterior of the house on 24/7 and ptz mains ones in the house when I'm away.

I've had them in situ for over 3 years an no problems whatsoever. Even in winter the battery never drops below 70% and still gets a decent charge from the solar. In summer they are all (just checked) at 97%

I have a Blink XT front and back, might not be the most hi-tech system but can't complain about imagine quality and very impressed with the night vision. Think I paid less than £100 two years ago for a two camera setup.

How big is the mains plug/adapter?

Would need it to fit in a waterproof box.

ETA - can you download recordings over the network or do you have to remove the SD card to access them?

I have a few TAPOs including this one.

The PSU is a typical 'wall wart', plugs directly into a mains socket, not massive from what I remember.

Everything is done via the TAPO app. I have mine set to continuously record to the SD and also stream to a Synology as a backup as my camera is in reach, but that is optional. The motion detection is set to AI which detects people and does a pretty good job of it. This creates markers on the daily timeline with thumbnails that you can jump to in the app. As you play clips in the app you can hit a record button which creates files that can be downloaded. There are lots of other ways to set it up in terms of recording schedule and detection zones, line crossing etc. I found all the other detection methods were fooled by rain or headlights or the wind etc etc so AI seems the best, but it is always recording so not an issue if the detection misses something.
