No GPS on iPad Pro?

New iPad Pro running iPadOS 15.5.
I can’t get the gps to work, I have location services on.
It does work when using a hotspot but I was told it would work independently.
I’ve tried reboot, tried toggling on/off.

You only get GPS on the Cellular versions, not the Wi-Fi only ones

F@£#. I asked that very question in the apple store when I purchased it.
My old iPad I paid the extra £100 or so for cellular as it had the gps, in store they told
me they all had it now. bks.

Can you try taking it back & asking them to swap it as you were misinformed? They are more expensive though.
