Anyone having problems with Ionos/1&1 ?

I can’t email gmail addresses from my Ionos mail server - they just bounce back.

I spoke to ionos and they say it is a known problem but clearly it’s pretty limiting because so many people have gmail!

I would move my business elsewhere but I have my domains with them and it looks a nightmare to sort out.

Is there any reason a gmail mail server would have to reject an inbound email based on its source like that?
