I want to hide a small 5 port ethernet hub behind my TV.
I have a Netgear one that has a 5V 700ma supply, but I have no spare 13amp outlets for it.
I do have a meaty USB charger brick with spare outlets. Is there any reason why I shouldn't just splice the netgear power jack onto a USB lead? It's not going to be on view, so the lump in the line caused by the heatshrink wrapped solder joins won't matter.
