Antivirus for Fire 10 won't install
Discussion
When I try to install Avast Free anti virus on my Fire 10 tablet I see the message: " Avast will be installed shortly" then nothing happens.
Same with Malware bytes. I am trying to get rid of the annoying " Hi, it's Google, answer these questions to win a phone, a vacuum cleaner" etc.
Any ideas folks?

Did you buy a cheapo version of Fire - that comes gratis with all the adds that you can never get rid of?Same with Malware bytes. I am trying to get rid of the annoying " Hi, it's Google, answer these questions to win a phone, a vacuum cleaner" etc.

Or one that cost £20-30 more with no adds.
That is most likely to be your answer.
There is a reason the cheap ones are cheap. ( You are the product.. not the tablet )
Paid for products - with a legitimate website - are the way to go IMO.
Thanks for responses. I bought the more expensive Fire, supposedly without ads.
When I tried to install Avast on the tablet I was asked to pick a device on which to install it but was only given the option to put it on my mobile phone. no reference to the tablet Not sure how they knew which phone I had, I went ahead using the tablet hoping it would install on the tablet.
When I later looked at my phone there was Avast: installed. I did not want that.
i haven't seen the so-called Google competition scam in the last 24 hours: It appeared when I was looking at the Guido Fawks site.
