Just had an email from Ring, the basic annual sub for a single device is going up from £24.99 to £34.99 per year. It is 'to improve your Ring experience and give you even more piece of mind".

Greed is good.

At least they are offering extra, even if not needed - they will store videos online for 6 months rather than just 1.

Its a hefty increase indeed - not sure I'll be renewing mine.

Definitely sounds like you are getting a new ring experience, straight up with no lube.

I think they could have worded it better.

hehe

Yeah, companies always seem clumsy at doing this and making it sound like you're getting extra value rather than being pounded without lube.

Useful thread. I saw the email and deleted it, assuming it was marketing guff.

I now know it wasn't guff, but I doubt I'll bother to do anything about it.

Which is what they're relying on.

Mine just renewed so got a while, but in the future I’ll be looking at Eufy which looks pretty good, and without subscription.

It's another £10 on top of all the other increases.

It's only a matter of time before cloud storage and many others go the same way.

!00%.

Have all of this stuff for free. Goannnnn. Put all your family photos up there.

We just need to make a small charge of £5 a yr. It's not much for all you get.

Just need to up your fee to £15 to pay for the power dontcha know...

I avoid any subscription services like this, especially ones where device functionality is dependent on it.

I can't remember how I did it, but, I signed up for my ring account via an American link so it works out slightly cheaper.
Going up to $39.99 which is about £32 or a pint in wetherspoons cheaper.

I'll send you my bank details and you can pay it for me then, it's only £10 and you have loads.

I’ll be cancelling, it’s a huge % rise.

I’ve been trying to remember the last time I used archived footage for anything useful, and come up blank. It’s mainly footage of the neighbours cat visiting the garden. We generally only use it to answer live and check if the bins have been emptied… Neither of which will be lost.

Let’s see if we miss it. We can always subscribe again. The current environment does seem to be giving every corporate an excuse to skyrocket fees.

It's probably the only money I give to Amazon (they own Ring), they are just greedy, I wonder if 'Prime' subs will be going up as well.

Prime subs have already gone up in the US so probably imminent over here, they have already downgraded the delivery from next day to 2 day delivery.

No they haven't, I have Prime and I still have next day delivery even same day delivery on some items.
