I have a SmartThings hub, which is hooked into Alexa. I then have a wireless motion sensor in the mail room (Smartthings compatible - i.e zwave or Zigabee) and it tells me when there is movement detected.

If its one of the echo's with zigbee built in just get a sonoff zigbee motions sensor or if you want more control over what it detects try to get an aquara p1 sensor. (but they are in very short supply right now). If the echo does not have zigbee get a zigbee hub, and sensor. I would go with sonoff just because I have used sonoff stuff for years without any issues.

Ok I’ve bought a zig bee bridge and a motion sensor .... which I’m going to put in the garage...( Called it garage)

Took me a while 🥺 to connect them both up via the eweelink app. Then managed/fluffed connected to my Alexa. So far so good . If I move my hand over the sensor I get a ping notification on my phone which I think is from the app itself.

How do you get Alexa to tell me some one is in the garage and also more importantly notify me on my phone .....

Please step by step as if giving instructions to a 5yr old 😂

Thanks
Mark

Just guessing as never used alexa, I use home assistant and google.

https://itead.cc/sonoff-works-with-alexa/ and then create a routine.
