Samsung s22 changing permissions

Have a new s22 (smallest model), which is my first Samsung having come from a oneplus. The Samsung os is taking some getting used to (not a fan) but the one thing that is really irking me is that the phone seemingly changes settings - particularly after updates.

In particular I am using AODnotify to provide a light for certain key apps. This is forever being deactivated.

Is this common practice with Samsung phones, and/or can I change something to stop this happening. Its very annoying...
