Normally I delete crap like this but I’m just checking here if anything further needs to be done.

Cheers

Have they also not claimed to have recordings of you in an intimate act? I always delete. If it were genuine, I'm sure they'd delete it encrypt something to prove they had access

I'd reply (using a free online email) with the following:

"Dear Dave

Many thanks for the email.

Actually you might have done me a huge favour.

Monday or Tuesday last week I found myself on beastsandboobs.com and happened upon a rather lovely European looking man and a donkey.

I'm certain if you search my images you'll fine the one, he was rather unique, as was the man, haha!

Please could you zip up the images and send them to me and I'll kindly send you some google cards!"

The good news is your email address (assuming it’s the same as your website) isn’t in the haveibeenpwned lists.

Even if your email address is on the list - change your password - to the usual 3 random words - throwing in numbers symbols etc

All the usual advice.

No point replying as they’ll have spoofed the senders address to be your own address to “prove” they’ve got access to your email account.
Delete the message, and take it as a prompt to make sure all of the passwords for your important accounts are sufficiently secure, and activate MFA if it’s available.

Had a few of these recently, I just delete them. They are hoping you fall for it and pay them in bitcoins. Problem is if your clever enough to have bitcoins your probably clever enough not to fall for it.

OP- I use Avast one on my tablet( android) and in free mode, there is a email hack checker. All you have to do is type in the e mail address and the app will check for any breach or ortherwise of the password associated with that account.

These hackers are so clever that they've installed a camera on my computer!

Seriously, it's just mass mail extortion spam. It's a bot harvesting email addresses and sending out thousands of emails with threats. They only need a small % to be be frightened into paying and they're into profit.
