Can I pair 2 different iphones with new ipad.
Discussion
Probably a daft question but my wife and I have iphones with different apple accounts and just want to know if I can connect both or only one ?
In an ideal world having both our separate email accounts appear without signing in would be helpful but also what about syncing photos and the like ?
Thanks.

The iPad will be connected with whoever's Apple ID you have used to set it up, you can only switch users by blanking it and setting it up with another ID. You can use another mail app to show another email account, for example my iPad has the Gmail app for my email, outlook for work email.
It's one of the big things stopping iPads become a true business device.

We use the native mail app to show multiple Gmail accounts and outlook etc. we also use Gmail for calendar and have multiple calendars showing at once, again in the native app. We don’t like the Gmail apps so don’t use them.
I’m the iOS mail app you can see all inboxes or select the one you want to see.
What is more of a challenge is text and WhatsApp messages. I don’t think they are as easy to combine

I don’t think you are asking to connect two phones to the pad such as to use the hotspot but rather to have both yours and your mrs emails on the one device?
If so then as above just add multiple accounts to your chosen mail app.
I use office 365 and pay about £8 a month for it for extended OneDrive storage etc and outlook will let you configure multiple accounts. One consideration will be making sure you reply from the correct address although outlook usually is smart enough to auto switch this.
If you need a shared function though then set up a joint email account. The iPad will always only be configured for a single iCloud account though so photos etc will be for that account, however that can also be remedied by using shared albums.

The answer is no... and yes too. iPads can support multiple accounts, which is what you need (like your own sign-ons on a laptop), however it is only for educational/business iPads not consumer ones. So, can you set up your iPad in this way? Well, technically, yes, but you really wouldn't want to as it requires complicated setting up and just isn't worth the hassle and expense for an end-user.
As people have said, if you don't mind your partner seeing your emails you could add both, but I would just buy another iPad for my wife in this situation, and then she keeps her email, photos and documents separate.

Yep. Family sharing is about as good as you are going to get. Shared album on Photos. etcIf so then as above just add multiple accounts to your chosen mail app.

Can't see it being possible to do exactly what you want though.

Just following up on a couple of posters comments - presumably I can physically add photos from 2 different iphone accounts to one ipad though ?
yes and no. If you mean five or six you can share them to the other persons account, but you can't have your photo account and your wife's account both set up at the same time on the iPad. If you mean you have a hard-drive with photos on then yes, you can import them into your photos app on the iPad.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
