Looking a pair of AirPod Pros to replace my standard AirPods that I’ve had for a few years now. Saw these ones on John Lewis and just wondering if they are the latest ones at it seems a really good price?

https://www.johnlewis.com/apple-airpods-pro-with-m...

Thanks

I have an older pair and they don’t have a MagSafe case, so I would say latest.

Yes and yes. I bought these from JL recently and it was with the new case. Excellent price and of course 2 year warranty.

i bought some for travelling when we all briefly thought that was a thing again. They're pretty great and the integration obvs with Apple kit is very slick. Yes there are other products that perform better on whatever single measure you might want to compare, but overall i think they're brilliant.

Thanks all. Ordered a pair from Curry’s as JL don’t deliver to NI apparently. Should be ready to pick up tomorrow fingers crossed!

Thanks again

Anyone know what is the advantage apart from sound quality of the AirPods Pro over AirPods 3rd gen. I have the second gen ones and apart from the more compact and stubby design when trying a relatives 3rd gen AirPods I found the sound only marginally better.

I don't think that AirPods 3rd gen have noise cancellation.

I really like mine. Unfortunately I can confirm they do not survive a full 60 degree wash cycle…

What’s the deal with the MagSafe case? Wireless charging?

The Pro have noise cancellation and silicone tips for a more secure fit. I could never get the original AirPods or gen 2 to stay in my ears, so running with them was out of the question. The Pros do stay in my ears.

The gen 3 are a similar design to the Pros but lack noise cancellation and the silicone tips. Some people prefer the more open design.

Offers more secure wireless charging - only if you have a MagSafe charger, mind! Both the Pros and gen 3 will charge wirelessly on a regular wireless charger.

Went and upgraded to the AirPods Pro 2021 since that were £187 on Amazon. Would have went with John Lewis and the two year warranty for £2 more but they seem to have something against posting to Northern Ireland at the minute.

Mine went duff a month after the standard warranty ran out. Known fault with crackling when using for phone calls. They were replaced FOC, so good service from Apple

Hello fellow NI’er wavey

Got mine from Curry’s with their price match.

Used them this morning on the walk and a big improvement on the original AirPods I have.

I'm waiting on the beats fit pro to come out in Europe, they seem to have all the good bits of the airpod pro while also having a more secure fit.

This is one of those patent application diagrams by Apple, basically an iPod nano type interface built into an Airpods case. An interesting concept if it's something they go ahead with.

and a render of the concept.
