Virgin Mobile - not working in Jersey.

Just had an enjoyable week on Jersey.
Apart from neither mine or my wife's mobile working. We are both on Virgin Mobile with Android phones.
Got on the chat bot on Virgin's help-line and they were convinced both our phones weren't set up for roaming - despite them having worked in France, Germany, Belgium, Crete, Cyprus and Spain pre-pandemic! Would not accept they were at fault, blaming our phones!
Chatting later to the hotel manager who said he'd had several guests with no service on Virgin.
Before I write to Virgin, has anyone on VM used their phone in Channel Islands?
