I don't think it even streams in HD. At least Netflix can manage that and HDR.
I've restarted my lappy and it's streaming perfectly in HD now.Good morning, bit of a thread resurrection for "Help a Numpty" day.
Brief intro: currently have NowTV to watch the odd football match, wife watching the new Tennis channel etc., cost with HD add on is about £30/month IIRC
Use it on my lap top, and can HD cable connect that to the TV if we want the bigger screen.
I've been offered the Sky Sports add on package for £20/month so we could watch everything on the big screen for £10 less but occasionally when on holiday we use NowTV and of course couldn't if we cancel it. Sky have suggested SkyGo but reading here it ain't good and anyway, when trying to instal the App on my lap top I get a pop up to advise it isn't a Microsoft approved app. and won't install.
All advice gratefully received, thanks.

Why not just get a streaming stick plugged into the TV and watch NowTv on your big screen. You could also log in on your laptop / mobile aswell when needed.Brief intro: currently have NowTV to watch the odd football match, wife watching the new Tennis channel etc., cost with HD add on is about £30/month IIRC

It's the £10/month saving I'm thinking of unless it results in a poorer service.
Can’t comment on Sky, never had it, probably never will.Having said that we have NowTv and that is owned by Sky. I would have thought Sky Go and NowTv share very similar technology so can’t imagine the performance differs much.
One thing that is annoying though is the introduction of adverts with NowTv. Probably one reason we might not renew when the current offer expires.

@Skyedriver, I haven't used SkyGo on a Windows machine, but surely there's an option (may not be obvious) to clear the pop-up and download it anyway? I wouldn't give a crap about MS approving it!! Then you can try SkyGo for the rest of your Sky package and see what you think.
Personally, I've found SkyGo to be ok, but it needs a decent wifi signal. I haven't used it, other than upstairs at home, for several years though.
We were watching football on Sky Go yesterday evening.
I have a decent spec PC connected to a UHD TV - with the resolution set to 1920x1080, the picture quality is appalling.
What we did find odd though, was changing to another channel (Nat Geo IIRC to watch Car SOS) the quality was perfect.
It's almost as if the picture quality for the footie was deliberately crippled...
I also have the Amazon Prime app on the same PC and picture is perfect.
