Just wondering if anyone has used or is using them? The customer service reviews online look bad but that could just be due to the nature of review sites...

Crap

My daughter got an iD Mobile phone, and it turns out there is no facility to stop the data usage at your plan limit, so had some pretty big bills. We've had to upgrade to bigger plan just to make sure she doesn't go over the limit. So far the "cheap" phone has cost us way more than a top spec phone from any other company. I thought practices like that had died out a long time ago.

Speaking to them gets you nowhere, so I'm voting with my feet.

Crap Crap Crap
Had the takeaway plan which is supposed to let you use your data allowance in 20+ countries, but I/they never managed to get data roaming working abroad.
Customer service is in South Africa and while they are pleasant enough and speak English well, they were just hopeless at fixing my issue (they never did in fact).
Gave up after about 6 months, terminated the contract early, they are now chasing me for early termination fees...

Moved to Three and I couldn't be happier, no hassle!

Had no bother myself on a SIM only 1 month contract plan. Haven't had any need to ring customer services though, even porting my number in was done online.

Good value compared to the competition.

No issues from me - using them for around a year. The PAC number port in and out were simple and online without issue.
Had one query during that time, which they resolved over the phone in a few minutes.
There was a £5 buffer on top of the included package, and it never went over.

These have to be the worst company I have ever dealt with! I wanted a sim for data only as I was going to be without broadband for a few days so the monkey at PC world signed me up with ID and said there was a 15gb plan and it was capped at that so couldn't go over. Well I did go over as it wasn't capped and ended up with quite a large bill, rang the South African helpline and as soon as they realised you were complaining they hung on on me, this happened 3 times! I finally got to speak to somebody who took payment for the extra data and cancelled my account, or did he frown

Fast forward 2 years and I get a threatening letter from a debt collection agency saying I owe ID mobile nearly £400 and because I had refused to pay it had been handed over to a debt collection agency, this was the first I had heard about it. I tried to use their complaints procedure but it appears the emails just go straight to a spam box and aren't actioned, furious I finally got it sorted by posting on their Facebook page and managed to get a rep in this country who was able to finally sort it out and write off the so called debt.

I did also go to PC world as I felt they had sold me the wrong product but they weren't interested at all furious

They may be OK if you don't have a problem but God help you if you have to contact them!

cheers - sounds like I'd best avoid then. I find that if it can go wrong it will....

Maybe they've improved in the last 6 years but I just came on to post a question about iD Mobile as they're advertising a pretty good deal on the S23 Ultra at the moment and I was considering a jump to them (and 3?) from a long-term contract with EE.

I think I'll hang fire for now or buy direct from Samsung biglaugh

Been using them for about a year.

No issues at all. Data caps work. Reception is fine. Wifi calling. Cheap. Nothing to complain about.

Me too. Been with them for over 2 years now (SIM only) and they've been fine. No problems with data, billing, etc.

Three in our household use them (me included) and the basic service has been fine. No reason for complaints.

Sounds like they realised ripping off customers and crap customer service is not good long term strategy!
