Funny how you get business sometimes. Client called me a few weeks ago, never used us before. She needed to make some small repairs to some window coverings.
Not the type of thing you can buy in the shops so she'd called a number of companies asking for help. None would until she called me. She sounded pleasent, had a bit of a chat so I offered to send her the 'bits' foc. Not worth charging for and well it seemed a nice thing to do.
Sent them off and forgot about it.
Last week had a call from a building company asking for a quote. I offered one. Total came to about 5K. Great business for me. It was accepted, I offered thanks and the buyer replied,"don't mention it, the wife was very pleased with the help you offered so I thought I'd give you a call".
How about that? Small things hey?

Nice!

Restores your faith in human nature.

Do'nt let it go to your head tho' getting paid is more important than good feeling.

An excellent example of how a good attitude can pay dividends. Chickens do come home to roost. Always!

Always worth looking after the small clients.
My first commissioned job straight out of Uni was a really small dining room extension to a house, all in a few hundred quid to me, not a lot, but i ddid a great job and it so sturned out the lady I did it for was the properties manager for one of the big crisps companies, and I then got to do lots of other work to their warehouses around the country.
Never turn away a small job....

A couple of years ago, got a call from a lad at Uni' doing a degree in Marketing asking if he could ask a few questions about branding. He sounded genuine (I can usually spot our competitors!!) so I suggested he came in and I could show him what we do and stuff. He spent about 2 hours here.

A couple of weeks later his dad rings up to say thanks and would I mind coming for a meeting at his firm - a major online ad agency.

They ended up being our biggest account for about 2 years!
