Guys,

Not sure if this is the right page to put this post, but I have reached the end of the line with a Web Development company. They are late in fact 6 weeks late at delivering and the site is half done. Can some one please recommend me a new web development company or web developer which they have experience of using in the past.

Thanks

Wayne

I have used www.webcraft.co.uk for many years and many websites. Highly recommended.

What was the original timetable?

On average, these projects are 200% overdue (time), and 270% over budget.

If you could outline the scope and high level functionality (just the big deliverables) I can point you in the direction of 2 or 3 reliable, honest, UK companies. The non BS kind.

They may be able to build sites, but my god the stuff they've done is bad. I mean really bad. Nasty, generic-templated design.

Compare this rubbish to these gems

I'd check exactly what you're contracted to with your existing agency, and consider the fact you may lose any of the work they've done so far (they'll likely hold you to ransom if you want it) so could be starting from scratch.

Good luck though!

Yes, but in fairness you are dealing at totally different ends of the market, Auchnfree Estate and Oban disability forum are going to have a budget and requirements for a website that will be a fraction of those of Durex, HMV and Waterstone.

What you need is to find a company that does good work at the level you can afford. If your budget is a few grand then you are going to get a pretty basic, template based site, you just need to find someone who can do that well and specialises in that. If you have a healthy five or six figure budget then you are looking for a totally different sort of supplier. So really the question is ' what is the budget? '

maybe if the op can post details of his site and people take a look, they can get more of an idea, eg hobby site or a full e-traders site ?
