Hi all,
Am sticking too many miles on the M3 so am pondering a run around (Smart or Mini maybe) - as this is only for the short term, would it be worth putting this through the company or would I get sh4fted on tax etc?
Know sweet FA about company cars so any advice greatly appreciated!

Hi Chris.
Personally I've found the most cost effective way is to purchase the vehicle and claim back your business mileage. The rates are pretty good and on a economical car as you mention it works out well. My Fiesta (ahem) returns 40 mpg.
'On the first 10,000 miles in the tax year 40p per mile
On each additional mile over 10,000 miles 25p per mile'

That is what I do at the moment with the M3, was just not sure that if running something like a smart with very low emissions and list price, would work out better through the company so I can get VAT back etc.
Have emailed the very slow accountant so will see what she says!
