I have completely exhausted my other resources so i thought maybe you guys could help me with this query.

I want to promote my company at a large event thats coming up in the next few weeks and I have had the idea of having CD's made and getting people to hand them out to everyone, thousands of them.

I need to find a company that I can give the CD's to and they will hand them out at the event. Does this even exist?

Also, has anyone used a marketing ploy like this with any success?

Thanks in advance,
D

Deester,

I have done something like this previously (Homebuilding renovation show 2003 NEC) I gave out CD's that were the size of business cards The label was a printed business card but also doubled up as a promotional CD.

It had some PDF brochures, CD version of website, and some other incentives to get the people to come and do business with me.

I had 5000 made, i think it cost me 2500 for all printing and pressing the CD's but. when i only take on 12 to 15 contracts per year at a rate of 10% enquiris and 3% take work its not that bad considering each contract is worth 70k plus.

Now just need to build better reputation with magazines and publications to evolve the business further.

Sounds like you need a promotions company that can supply nice young ladies to go round handing them out and smiling - steviebee might be able to suggest something?

Yes, something like that! The googlebot has failed me, I can't find anything relevant.

Perhaps a model agency? There should be plenty of newbie candidates trying to get some work on their CV.

I know the car companies use model agencies for the motorshows - why can't you?

Ofcourse, be careful about going for the cheapest around :;

Ah, Jealous Wife Syndrome. Tricky. You won't have to 'audition' them personally, the agency will select them and send you pix - or a page on their website. But if you're still going to be accused of having affairs with them, you'll just have to face the flying glasses (been there mate!)

Do a search on www.mad.co.uk for sales promotion agencies.

Word of warning on CD ROM "Cards" - I have heard more than a few stories of them wrecking PCs because the speed of some drives is too fast. Also, they don't work on the G4/G5 "vacuum" type Mac drives.
