Hi

A client of mine wishes to email his customers (approx 3000). He has the email in an Access database. What's a good online service to use that puts the target in the 'To:' field and allows HTML emails?

Thanks.

Concur. We use GroupMail for all our mailings.
It's not an online service, you do it from your own PC, but you then have control of it. You can import your database into Groupmail so you don't have to retype it all.

or just outout all the db to a file.
and stick this file as a .forward in your users home dir, then email your user.

Much cheaper, but not as 'posh'

Or just code a php app to mail them.

3000 isnt much really, so easily done.

For a few quid, I could have my coder write summin,

I once created some VBA code in M$ office to programmatically generate emails (from customer details in access .mdb). It required Outlook to be installed to use its object model.

Think I've got it to hand somewhere...

A subsidary of ours has just launched a bulk e-mail service called WizzyBits. More of a bulk marketing system though as it tracks people who have opened the messages, which links they followed etc.

WizzyBits

Might be worth a look as they are offering a free 30 day trial.

We use GenMailer from Gensortium (www.gensortium.com) and its really good. Its all kept online and you pay a monthly subscription to use it. You can have html email, and also track clickthroughs and give an automatic unsuscribe link as well. It accepts email list in excel format, but it might accept access as well, I'm not sure. Ask to speak to Em Hayes to find out, she's dead helpful

Regards,
Justin
