TO be honest it really depends on the confidentiality of the work you are doing.. If you are ok with other people looking over your shoulder while you are working then fine, but i prefer a bit more privacy and would pay the extra for a dedicated small office where noone else has access axcept your own employees

Fair comment about confidentiality but for small businesses seeking cheap office space it's a simple solution without getting into the headaches of leasing property etc.

Nope. I just appreciate the simplicity of it.

I agree it's a good idea, but the prices look quite high (for London/Surrey anyway) i.e. similar to a dedicated provider such as Regus/MWB etc.

Would have thought the cost would be lower given that the provider is providing surplus space (nil marginal cost to them) and not acquiring space to sub-let.

Guess it depends on how much "infrastructure" you need and what flexibility to increase space requirements.

Phil.

I looked into a Regus office in High Wycombe last year and the prices were horrific. They wanted the best part of £1000 a month for 150+ sq ft. It was £150 a month to park your car in the (empty) car park.

We pay £100 a month for about 100sq/ft. Get to know your local farmers?

Hmmm so thats £1 sq ft per month equates to £12 sq ft per year. That could be expensive depending on location.

It has historically been a mystery why rents on converted farm units can be higher than modern units in town centres, and my theory is that part of the reason is farmers say its £x per week, which sounds cheap.

In the meantime agents of commercial space in town say its £y per sq ft per annum which sounds expensive.

Its not until after the deal is done that it becomes clear the £y per sq ft is actually cheaper.

Regus etc will always be more expensive as they have all the extra costs of business rates, receptionists, furniture etc to pay for, and then of course all the empty space!
