beats me, I inherited stuff like a love note that was delivered by carrier pigeon during the seige of Paris, a segment of a German blimp that was shot down in Kent, meadals, a Rhead vase, loads of odd books, limited edition Shakespeare etc

A right old mixture! If you want the best money, I guess you'd have to put them in specialist auctions. My uncle could give you advice with furniture and paintings, but not your kind of stuff, sorry. At least it's not too bulky.
NB 'Zeppelin' I think.

German "Blimp"? No such thing. Is this actually a section of a World War 1 airship such as a Zeppelin or a Schutte Lanz? Now THAT might be quite valuable - especially if you can link it to a shooting down by an RFC fighter pilot.

Try 'Zeppelin Fighters' by Arch Whitehouse - great book. If you know where the thing came down it's surely identifiable - and there's a fair chance that how it met its fate will be known. As eric mc says, it all helps the value :ching:
