My Wife's gran died back in May and we were told (by Gran) of some funds being made available to her grandchildren after she dies. This is unlikely to be a lot and is of little concern to us but my Wife's sister could do with some extra money at the mo'.

To date, no mention of her Will has been made by my Wife's Dad and no one wants to discuss it as it can seem a tad "tacky" and we don't want to offend anyone.

Is there a way in which other family members can view the Will without dad-in-law knowing?

Cheers!

contact the executor for your grans estate but if thats the dad in law. try to find out the solicitor where the will is being held and speak to him, there should have been a will reading at somepoint though unless your gran left all her belonging to her husband in trust for the granchildren for when he passes away.

Dont hold out for much though as my great granddad died 5 or so years back, he asked me what i wanted to remind me of him, i told him the picture of him and me at the house where he lived and the aerial photo of his house.

It was in the will but i did not get it some other thief in the family got it.

Also just occured to me that once the will has been dealt with by the solicitor isnt it passed onto the public records office, to go in the town archieve.

Give your public records office a ring and see what they need to find it
