Hi…

I’m looking to set up an online business and this forum seems to be an excellent place to tap into a number of likeminded brains! So, the first hurdle I have is can anyone recommend an ISP (among the many out there) where I can register my domain name and that is able to host my site...and that is competitively priced?

Thanks in advance...

Andy

I use www.oneandone.co.uk who claim to be the best and the cheapest. They offer various packages depending on your need including 2 small business packages with different bandwith/storage IIRC.

Haven't had any problems so far... I suspect they are more of an idiots ISP

I'm sure there will be other competitive ISPs out there for the expert web site owner.

www.Register1.net for domains, SSL and low cost hosting.

www.Serverstream.net for top end (Large Corp / PLC) level hosting.

Have plenty of designers as customers should you need putting in contact

Flash specialist, Database specialists, XML specialiasts, java specialiats, PHP/ASP/you name it specialists

I use Verio.co.uk , not cheap but fairly bullet proof. Never had an outage in 18 months.

Ummm. Perhaps I'm missing something here but... your site appears to be one page offering contact details for your business - fair enough. Why is it implemented in Flash rather than simple text/graphics? And why the choice of a broadband or modem version when the site content is so similar (and small)?

Flash is evil in many ways... unfriendly to non-mainstream browsers, terminally unfriendly to visually impaired users using text-to-speech.

Just curious...

Such an old-fashioned view!

The biggest problem with Flash is that it's used inappropriately.
