As a recently graduated type chap looking for a career I have just recieved an interesting email about being a recruitment consultant. Basic of 12K, "realistic" OTB of £40K. Sounds really good, but I know little of the ins and outs of the trade.

I'm guessing it is a sales job in all but name and the idea is to form relationships with both businesses and prospective employees.

Are there any consultants on here that could give me the low down on what the job is likely to be entail, good and bad points if you please.

Cheers

Phil

There are a few of us on here, well quite a few actually, its almost what you described it as but to be good you need to have a bit more meat on the bone to differentiate yourself from the rest. You didnt say what type of Recruitment it was ?? that makes a huge difference, there are also quite a few threads with this subject in it, try doing a search on recruitment on the forum and see what it throws up, mail me off line for any other info and i'll see what i can do for you !!

Thanks for the reply - I Haven't been able to get to the computer for a while, hence the delay.

I believe the role is recruiting for the engineering and construction industry, although the role is being advertised through an agency who are pretty vague about it.

I will do some more investigation into it (I have applied already) and then I may well take you up on your offer of further information, once I have done some research myself.

Thanks again

Phil
